Greyhound "Oscars" in Prague
The Awards of the Golden Greyhound 2010 took place in the KOBE Restaurant, Wenceslas Square - Prague, on the 12th of March 2011. The best czech greyhound racers received the most prestigious awards of the year. The Czech Greyhound Racing Federation is the organizer of the Golden Greyhound Championship and the Golden Greyhound Awards.
Greyhound star arrived sylishly - like a Hollywood movie star
Black limousine, livery driver, czech celebrities on the red carpet , white greyhound paws, black court shoes, spangled shoes ...
The greatest greyhound star - White Elbony - the Golden Greyhound Grandmaster of the year 2010 arrived in a black limousine (BMW 750 AXL) with the incription "Grandmaster White Elbony". He was welcomed like Hollywood movie stars - TV reporters, photographers, crowds of fans.
The welcoming attracted attention of passers-by and drivers. Everyone wanted to take a picture of the Golden Greyhound and that was the reason why the traffic in the Prague center collapsed for a few minutes.
Welcome drink & arrival of guestsMr. Zdenek Grondol, the President of the Czech Greyhound Racing Federation welcomed all guests including czech greyhound celebrities, e.g. NewMac Dior, Stormy Cassandra, Sjudraget Lijane, Lemon Moët, White Elbony. Besides their trainers, Mr. Grondol also welcomed a lot of czech famous artists, models and other czech celebs (please refer to the below-mentioned links for further information). e.g. Czech Miss 2010 Jitka Valkova, Miss of the CR 2009 Aneta Vignerova, Fr. Winners of the Golden Greyhound 2010 - category Design
The most beautiful racing greyhounds were presented on a large-screen TV. These greyhounds were awarded on a dog show called the 1st Czech Freed Greyhound Exhibition.

"The One Who Never Looses" a song for a racing greyhound
After that Mrs. Heidi Janku sang the anthem of czech greyhounds - wonderful song ""Ten, kdo neprohrává" (The One Who Never Looses), produced by the Greyhound Company.
Greyhound love this song - e.g. the above-mentioned White Elbony "sang" the song with Heidi last year (must see!).
On 12th of March 2010 it was Lemon Moet who sang the song with her (please find pictures in the photogallery below).
Winners of the Golden Greyhound 2010 - category RacingGreyhound racing champions - the Winners, the Masters and the Grandmaster were awarded in person.
Indeed, Prague greyhound "Oscars" proceeded in the style of Hollywood Oscar Awards - the most famous czech artists opened envelopes and awarded the greyhound winners.
This year's winners are:: - greyhound NewMac Dior (Golden Greyhound - Winner, category 300 m / 525 m - Bitch, owner Rudolf Zelinsky ), was awarded by the TV moderator and Top model Michaela Ochotska,
- greyhound Stormy Cassandra (Golden Greyhound - Winner, category 525 m - Bitch, owner Jiri Jirout),
was awarded by the actress Andrea Kerestesova and the photographer Jadran Setlik,
- greyhound Sjudraget Lijane (Golden Greyhound - Master, category 300 m - Bitch, owner Libor Zamecnik),
was awarded by the Miss of the CR 2009 Aneta Vignerova,
- greyhound Lemon Moet (Golden Greyhound - Winner, category 525 m - Dog, owner Lubomir Kotek),
was awarded by the Czech Miss 2010 Jitka Valkova,
- greyhound White Elbony (Golden Greyhound - Master, category 300 m - Dog, owner Zdenek Grondol),
was awarded by the violin virtuoso Pavel Sporcl and actress Barbora Kodetova,
- and finally greyhound White Elbony again, as a triple winner of the given category in three seasons. White was was awarded with the title of the Golden Greyhound - Grandmaster - the top title that a czech greyhound can achieve. The title of the Grandmaster was awarded only once in the past.
Grandmaster White Elbony awas warded by the profesor, actor Jan Preucil and actress Eva Hruskova.
Grandmaster White uses racing tricks of F1 pilotsThe title of the Golden Greyhound - Grandmaster is connected with a financial grant worth of 100,000 CzK (cca. 5,500 USD). The Secretary general of the Czech Greyhound Racing Federation, Mr. Rudolf Zelinsky, handed over the cheque to the owner of White.
Mr. Zelinsky also expressed his deep admiration for the extraordinary greyhound who is able to outrun other runners in a very unique way.
While other greyhounds have to slow down a bit in bends (as the effect of the centrifugal forces), White runs near the outer fencing, before the bend he move to the center of the track and uses the centrifugal effects in his favor - it brings him to the outer fencing again. He convenietly avoids all racers who try to stick to the inner fencing and the race is a walk-over for him altough he has to run cca 10 m more than other racers.
White Elbony is an offspring of australian legend Big Daddy Cool and irish dam Elbony Spirit.
Greyhound - Grandmaster helps children - Ark Chantal Foundation
White and his owner decided to donate the grant worth of 100,000 CzK to the Ark Chantal Foundation (a child charity foundation) so that the grant could improve conditions of child patients int he Motol Hospital.
Mrs. Chantal Poullain, a famous czech-french actress and patron of the Ark Chantal Foundation, personally received the gift from the Grandmaster White.
„We thank you so much. We will use the money to complete reconstruction of a child department of the Motol University Hospital, the department will be opened on 1st of June 2011 - Children's Day." said Mrs. Chantal.
New painting "White Elbony is faster than Enzo Ferrari and Vaclav Klaus"
Frantisek Ringo Cech portaited the white greyhound called "White" as a golden greyhound in his new painting.
The real name of the painting is actually: "White Elbony is faster than Enzo Ferrari, Zdenek Grondol and Vaclav Klaus". The Author, both of the painting and the legend to the painting, is renowned for his peculiar sense of humor.
Golden greyhounds, greyhound racing, Enzo Ferrari, Zdenek Grondol but also the president of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus live their own grotesque story as all Ringo' s paintings are renowned for his original stories and unexpected connections.

Kobe restaurant - a place where the true art of gastronomy is bornIndeed the Golden Greyhound Awards was an unforgettable experience. It is necessary to point out to the exceptional enviroment of the restaurant, impeccable service and unique eye for detail that Kobe restaurant offered to the guests.
The guests could see new videoclips of the Czech Greyhound Racing Federation during the dinner - both from greyhound races and a brand new videoclip "Greyhound Stadium Motol". Czech Greyhound Racing Federation will publish these clips soon.
Golden Greyhound 2010 - photoshots and the epilogue
All our guests liked greyhound very much. E.g. Pavel Sporcl (violin virtuoso) said: " Anytime I see a greyhound running, it reminds me of the rapidness and endurance of Mr. Paganini - his masterpiece called "Moto Perpetuo".
This extravaganza is 4 minutes long, it is played rapidly from the beginning till the end."
Miss CR Aneta Vignerova expressed her enthusiasm for greyhounds: "I think it is speed that connects successful greyhounds and models, also slim bodies of models are often compared with the slim and muscular bodies of greyhound racers.".
Perhaps next time Aneta will meet our greyhound sport model, Chanel who is nicknamed as a "Top model",
next year - the Golden Greyhound 2011 Awards.
