Racing paddock at the Greyhound Race Track Praskačka

Racing paddock:

Racing paddock consists of four sections, each contains six boxes. Three sections are used for races - Race 1, Race 2, Race 3, one section is used for trials.
Racing paddock is covered with thermal isolated roof. Greyhounds in paddock are protected from hot, cold, wind and rain.
Greyhounds stay in the paddocks before their race, they are not bothered by sound of the lure, cars, audience etc.

At first the CGRF was pillorized by various greyhound owners because of the introduction of the novelty - the Racing paddock. In the course of time greyhound owners got used to it and realized the advantage of the racing paddock, consequently it was necessary to extend the paddock. Some of the greyhound owners even wanted to rent some paddocks permanently.
Mr. Zdenek Greyhound Grondol funded this installation.

There is another extra paddock in the race track area, used just as a back-up. It used to be labelled as a Kennel.

For laics:

Greyhounds can rest in the Racing paddock and they are not stressed by noise caused by the lure, running greyhounds etc. (Some amateur race tracks operate extremely noisy lure systems).
A stressed greyhound can easily get injured at a race track.

Greyhounds at various amateur race tracks in the Continental Europe usually wait in cars, or in mobile cages etc. Sometimes they are tied to trees or to some pin digged in the ground.
